After three years away the walk is back, lets make this the best ever.

We take a slow gentle walk, led by Bob the Piper to the Old Star on, Swanlow Lane.  If its too far for you to walk please wait for us at the Star.

Here we will hold a multi faith and non religious memorial service to remember the loved ones that we have lost.

All are welcome, Young and old, dogs and even horses. We walk to remember and celebrate the lives of those we have lost. At the town we will have a short service hosted by celebrants and ministers from the towns churches. We will then release bubbles to the sky and enjoy live music from Sam Lyon and Jonny King (Could we ask no balloons please). Ernie Welch is kindly providing a free hot pot, the cake stall is back, and there will be a fundraising raffle.

What we really need is you, so please fill out the form below to register your interest, its your Memorial Mile.

Thanks for joining the Memorial Mile!

What is the Memorial Mile?

Every two years we organise a walk in memory of those we have lost.

The Memorial Mile is primarily about remembering someone you have lost but it's lovely if we can help raise money for local charities at the same time.

There is no entrance fee.

On the 25th November 2017 we walked our first Memorial Mile. We walked again in 2019.

Here's what happened in 2017:

  • 2017's charity was the Phoenix Support Group at St. Lukes Hospice. They help children and young people who have lost a parent.

  • We gave everyone a name tag to say who they are walking in memory of.

  • We  provided people with bubbles as during the service we released them to heaven/the skies.

  • We left our Chapel at 11am following the route to the Winsford Shopping Centre, where we will had a short service. Everyone was then invited back to the Golden Lion for refreshments.

  • We were then accompanied on our walk by a Bag piper and were met in the town centre by the Salvation army band and local singer Sam Lyon.
